Born and raised in Chatham - a small town in Southern Ontario, Mike draws his playing influences from many genres ranging from rock, pop, classic and new country and even heavy metal. Striving for perfection on stage and in studio; he has played many stages across Canada and recording studios throughout Ontario. 

Mike began his musical journey at age 13 with the bass guitar and started honing his skills with the Hal Leonard Bass Method Books. He soon found himself strumming an acoustic guitar and just jamming around campfires. Things progressed quickly and he soon found himself back playing the bass in school bands and closing out pep-rallies throughout high school. While away at college Mike started to develop his stage presence and live performance skills, having the opportunity to sit in as a bass player for a weekly house band at a local pub playing multiple genres of music.

Following this, Mike took some time off to get started in the workforce and to start a family. Soon after, he began "noodling" on his guitars again and found himself playing live once again in several acts in the Greater Toronto Area. Many of these acts cut studio records and released singles to radio where Mike is credited as the bass player on these tracks and albums. 

Most commercially successful of these bands was Johnson's Creek where Mike found himself co-writing, composing, recording and booking the band. Johnson's Creek found their niche quickly and grew a committed following. The band toured extensively throughout Ontario and had tours on the East Coast through to Central Canada. The band released a 6 track EP along with 3 additional singles. Johnson's Creek released several of these tracks to International and Canadian Country Radio and even played alongside country artists such as Jade Eagleson, Tennille Arts, Gord Bamford, Jason McCoy, and country greats Noel and Ben Haggard, Tanya Tucker and Lonestar.
